Title supplied by cataloger. A large group of Taiwanese-Americans, now residing in the Southern California area, demonstrate in front of the Federal Building. While they welcome the normalization between the U.S. and the People's Republic of China, they take an exception to the PRC's claim that Taiwan is a part of China. They believe that Taiwan belongs to the people of Taiwan and maintain that Taiwan's security can only be guaranteed through establishing an independent Taiwan with a democratic and representative government. An effigy of Lee Teng-hui burns in the forefront.
