Description: Mrs Gay, in a gingham dress, is inundated with lion cubs as she sits in the lion's compound, leaning against a wire fence. The verso of the photo states: "Mrs. Gay is pictured with a flock of playful young lions, one of which added to the string of misfortunes by tryng to swallow his dinner all at once and choking to death. And then Mrs. Gay's beautiful pet peacock suddenly and mysteriously joined the two lions in death." Photo dated: Jun. 6, 1927.
