Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated October 2, 1963 partially reads, "What kind of recipe is worth $25,000? That was the grand prize in the 15th Grand National Bake-off sponsored by Pillsbury and General Electric this month in Beverly Hills. Mrs. Roman Walilko, a busy Detroit, Mich., homemaker baked her way to the prize with an original hamburger and bean one-dish meal called 'Hungry Boys' Casserole.' Wife of an industrial engineer and mother of five children, Mrs. Walilko combined garbanzos and ceci - two types of beans she enjoyed in salads served in Italian restaurants - and a topping of almond-olive biscuits. She and 99 other contestants from around the nation baked their entries in 'the world's largest kitchen,' set up in the Beverly Hilton Hotel's International Ballroom." Photograph caption reads, "Baking her yeast roll with sour cream and apricot topping is Mrs. Clyde R. Ferrell of Long Beach."; See images #00145278 through #00145280 for all photos in this series.
