Paved paths reach from the sidewalk, through the grass yards, and to the row of lightly-colored houses on the right. A small, dark dog lies in the shade near a palm tree in the yard of the nearest house while a young girl sits with her elbows on her knees on the staircase of the next house. Various trees shade the rest of the yards as they continue down the street.
