Shows Mervyn M. Dymally (President), Joseph Kennick, James R. Mills (President Pro Tempore), George N. Zenovich, Dennis E. Carpenter (?),
Senator. Born in Saginaw, Michigan, September 25, 1905. He served as superintendent of the Welfare Department and Juvenile Bureau for the City of Long Beach, 1933-1958. Elected to State Assembly in 1958. Served four terms. In 1966 he was elected State Senator from the 33rd district and served until 1976. He died October 7, 1980, in Long Beach, California.
Mervyn Dymally was born in 1926 in Trinidad (of mixed Indo-Trinidadian and Afro-Trinidadian heritage). He served in the State Assembly (1963-66, 2003-08), in the State Senate (1967-75), as Lt. Governor (1975-79) and in the U.S. House of Representatives (1981-93).
