Description
Portrait of Granville L. Beedle, also known as "George." In 1960, at the age of 72, Granville became the secretary-manager for the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce. His daughter, Carol Healy, would succeed him as Manager. George retired in 1973. George was also a charter member of the Commuter's Club and became its second President. In addition, Granville served on the Mill Valley Civic Commission, was a member of the Marin County Historical Society, and an active member of the Mill Valley Community, becoming president of their Men's Club. Finally, he worked for both the Mill Valley Record and the the Mill Valley Review. George would die in 1977 at the age of 89. Granville was married to Carol S. Beedle. They moved to Mill Valley in 1922, stayed two years, and then moved back in 1940. They lived at 25 Renz Road. Together they had three daughters and three sons.
