This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
View of two crouching men flanking the cornerstone of Temple Emanu-El, which lists William Patton as architect, Charles W. Davis as contractor, and John E. Kincaid as brick mason, also bearing the date 1864. This photo would have been taken after the razing of the synagogue and before the 450 Sutter Building was constructed on its site in 1929. No written caption.
