Republican mural, Ardoyne Avenue, Ardoyne, North Belfast, 2001. Mural commemorates black taxi drivers killed 1971-2001; during the troubles the Black Taxi services were both more reliable andmore frequent than the Belfast City buses, largely because the latter were liable to disruption; the service operated on both sides; a number of taxi drivers in Nationalist/Republican areas were killed in sectarian assassinations.
