Photograph shows the Rancho Chico gate. This gate was the entrance to the Children's Playground. John Nopel attributes this photo "copied in July 1982 from original" to a loan from Sybil Mathys. The gate was situated at the north end of Broadway and the corner of First Street. in the background you can see the car barn shed for the Sacramento Northern Electric Railroad.
