"Woodlands: Br. Balie mit den meisten seiner Kinder vor seinem Haus. Die Kinder sind sonntäglich gekleidet und gekämmt." ("Woodlands: Br[other] Balie with most of his children in front of his house. The children are dominically dressed and combed."). The picture shows a group of six girls, two boys and a man. The girls wear white dresses. The boys wear short, light colored trousers. The man is dressed in a light colored suit. The group stands in front of a house wall. On the left and right are open doors. The bottom part of the door on the left is closed. Written on the card board: "22.1.34. P. Theile." Woodlands is an outstation of Clarkson in the west. -- The picture probably shows Michael Zacheus Balie (1878, Genadendal - 1964 , Genadendal) who was a teacher and worked in the mission service in Wittewater from 1924 to 1933 and in Pella from 1933 to 1937.
