Description
This circa-1925 photograph shows the entrance to Sacramento’s Chamber of Commerce building at 918 Sixth St. The $80,000 three-story structure was built in 1921 by the Sacramento contracting firm of Betz and Mabrey. The Chamber ‘s Secretary-Manager, A.S. Dudley, was able to fund construction by persuading members to pay dues up to 10 years in advance. The terra cotta features above the entrance were created by Gladding, McBean and Company of Lincoln, CA.
