5 images. Edna Driskell arrest (attempted to kill officer), 28 April 1955. Mrs. Edna May Smith Driskell - 51 years (attempted to shoot officer during investigation. Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Gaze. Date: 1955-04-28. Reporter: Gaze. Assignment: Edna Driskell Arrest. #3-9: Mrs. Edna May Smith Driskell, 51, pictured at Santa Monica police station as she tells her story. #79: Detective Curtis Frank, questions Mrs. Edna May Smith Driskell, who allegedly attempted to kill him (and later herself) with gun loaded with faulty bullets. Gun is on table between them. #10: Mrs. Edna May Smith Driskell, bridge of two days, turns away from gun held by Santa Monica Police Detective Robert Barham. Police say she attempted to kill a detective and take her own life during an investigation of a grand theft but failed because bullets in the pistol were (old) faulty."
