Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated October 2, 1963 partially reads, "What kind of recipe is worth $25,000? That was the grand prize in the 15th Grand National Bake-off sponsored by Pillsbury and General Electric this month in Beverly Hills. Mrs. Roman Walilko, a busy Detroit, Mich., homemaker baked her way to the prize with an original hamburger and bean one-dish meal called 'Hungry Boys' Casserole.' Wife of an industrial engineer and mother of five children, Mrs. Walilko combined garbanzos and ceci - two types of beans she enjoyed in salads served in Italian restaurants - and a topping of almond-olive biscuits. She and 99 other contestants from around the nation baked their entries in 'the world's largest kitchen,' set up in the Beverly Hilton Hotel's International Ballroom." Photograph caption reads, "Mrs. Jack C. Jones, Long Beach, earned her place in the bake-off finals with her main dish recipe for a corned beef casserole featuring dainty biscuit swirls."; See images #00145278 through #00145280 for all photos in this series.
