Description
(PJ 07.2998).
Note translation: "Gegengruss" here refers to formal greetings ceremonies customary in southern Ghana. These visitors have already filed past the king and chiefs, shaking their hands. They are now grouped so that the King and chiefs can pass by them shaking the hand at least of the most important. (PJ 07.1998). - Note the cameras. And is it possible that the umbrella belonged to the Basel Mission Field Chairman? According to his son the Field Chairman Henking used an umbrella and some other symbols to indicate his status when approaching chiefs. (PJ 04.2001).
Stamped: "Museum der Basler Mission, Basel, Missionsstrasse 21."
