Notes written by the principal of Poston II High School (1942-1945) provide details and opinion about the center's physical arrangements; communication; transportation; personnel housing; shopping facilities; dust control and landscaping; administrative organization; administrative policy and program, including regarding the "November food handlers 'strike'"; and Community Services Management Division. The Japanese American Archival Collection originated from a gift of photographs, documents and artifacts from the teaching materials of Mary Tsuruko Tsukamoto. The Collection chronicles the story of Japanese Americans in Northern California from 1869 through post World War II and continuing present day issues.
