Description: Monrovia Hotel 1886. Also known as 'Monrovia residence' and the 'Mills Hotel', it was built by John C. Anderson. It was bought by C.C. Hotchkiss in December 1886, who had also married W.N. Monroe's sister. Monrovia Planet December 18, 1886. Vol.1 No. 5. Mr. Hotchkiss expanded it and sold it to Mr. Baker of Pasadena for $11,500 in March 1887.
