Description
A book, "Ashiato あしあと Pasadena Buddhist Women's Association, 1951-1961," commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Pasadena Buddhist Women's Association in 1961. The book contains photographs and information regarding the members of the association, photos of events and activities, as well as the history and establishment of the association in 1951. The book highlights moments of interest from each year of the association's existence. The book contains advertisements and congratulations from local businesses and community members.
The Nishimura and Nagata Family Papers contains items relating to the history of the Pasadena Buddhist Church, including photos of events and groups associated with the church like the Pasadena Buddhist Women's Association, the Young Buddhist League (BL), various Buddhist Church conferences, Judo competitions, and Kendo competitions. Materials also relate to the incarceration of the Nagata family at the Heart Mountain incarceration camp in Cody, Wyoming and include photographs of the family.
