Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated June 1, 1963 partially reads "Since the beginning of football history one of the marks of a player has been an incomplete set of teeth to show for his gridiron combat, but the Valley Dental Society and the National Alliance Football Rules Committee are taking positive action to end the preponderance of dental plates among football players. Dr. Robert Kinsman of Chatsworth is shown in the picture at right as he takes a plaster impression of varsity football player Doug Stevens' teeth. After taking the plaster impression a custom mouth protector will be made for Doug." See image 00155823 for additional photo in this series.
