Description: Irving asks Farquhar about a paragraph which had appeared connecting Farquhar with the Divorce Court [from file label]. "A false and malicious paragraph had connected Gilbert Farquhar with a pending divorce case. Farquhar was advised to ignore it and not issue a writ for libel. He was a good actor and a gentleman in all ways - a great friend of Irving and of King Edward when Prince of Wales" [handwritten note].
