Description
Photograph of "The Sylvan Fete" a painting by Faber, depicting young men and women dallying in the forest, [s.d.]. Two women sit on the grass in the foreground, gossiping, one of them holding an open book. Behind them, a minstrel seranades them with his lute. Farther left, a young man in a ruffed collar feels the forehead of another, while still farther left, a much younger girl can be seen bunching up a fold of cloth in her arms. Directly at center, behind all the others, a flaxen-haired girl examines the blossoms on a bush. The forest can be seen in the background, along with a few houses in the left distance.
