Photograph of an exterior view of the Hotel Vendome (or Veridome?) in San Jose, California, ca.1900. A paved driveway leads through the yard from the foreground on the left to the large hotel at center. Trees stand along the edge of the grassy yard that surrounds the driveway while at the end of the driveway staircases lead to a shaded porch on the first floor of the hotel. Hundreds of rectangular windows can be seen in the massive hotel and what appears to be a flagpole extends from the top of a tower in the hotel's center. A second, rounded tower stands on the hotel's corner on the right while an automobile is parked on the far left.
