Photograph of a portrait of Jim Fielding, a Walapai Indian policeman, Hackbury, Arizona, ca.1900. He can be seen from the waist up facing straight ahead. His eyes are looking to the right. Behind him hang two Indian blankets, both striped. He is wearing a three-piece suit with a light tie. Only the top button of his jacket is buttoned. He has dark hair, parted in the middle, and a moustache. He is sitting with his right hand holding the hooked handle of a staff or rod. He appears somewhat cock-eyed.
