Used in the Exhibit: Play by Play - A Century of L.A. Sports Photography, 1889-1989 Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin, outside the Canyon Country Club in Palm Springs. The Frank Sinatra Invitational lasted only one year, but it sparked a trend among sports-minded entertainers. In 1965, Hope lent his name to the Palm Springs Golf Classic, a five-day tourney that continues to this day. Photo dated: September 29, 1963.
