Description
A group of people sit happily at Topanga Beach, in the mouth of Topanga Canyon. On the left, a Mr. C.C Cheney has his left arm over his wife Lucy's shoulders. Mrs. Lucy Greenleaf has her arm on her husband Charles' neck. The face of a Mrs. Faylor appears directly behind Charles Greenleaf's head and Tillie Manners is sitting next to Mrs. Faylor. Mrs. Edwin Erdman, wearing a straw hat and a white apron, sits next to Morton A. Allen, who is lying in the sand. In the background is 3 year old Eddie Erdman, who is walking away from the photographer. The photograph was taken not long after Topanga Canyon Road first opened for horse and wagon travel, as indicated by the horse corral visible in the background.
