Pentecostalism, a fundamentalist religious movement within Christianity that emphasizes the role of the Holy Spirit, has its historic roots in the Azusa Street Revival of Los Angeles (1904 to 1906). The largest Pentecostal denomination in the world is the Assemblies of God. It has over 283,413 churches and outstations in over 200 countries (over 12,311 in the U.S. alone), and approximately 57 million followers worldwide. Photo dated: May 2004. Exterior view of Iglesia Taberna´culo Cristiano Misionero, located at 1231 Locust Ave. in the city of Long Beach. This photo shows a close-up of the 2-story white building, which, if not for the church sign, could pass off as a warehouse. The sign reads, "Iglesia Taberna´culo Cristiano Misionero de 'Salem' Pentecostes, Inc. Servicios: Mart-Juev-Sab-7:00 PM. Dom-9:30 AM y 5:00 PM. Bienvenidos".
