Photograph caption dated August 27, 1957 reads, "If you like the mountains where the crisp, clean air is scented with the sweet smell of pine and juniper trees and friendly deer sometimes wander down onto your campsite, you'll like out motorlog trip to Big Bear Lake this week. Often referred to as either a summer playground where you can fish, swim, hike, hunt, go horseback riding or water ski, or as a winter resort of skiing, tobogganing or ice skating, Big Bear Lake today rapidly is becoming a year 'round resort area." Photograph caption reads, "A must - Anyone that visits Big Bear should take a ride on the Snow Summit Ski Lift where you get a panoramic view of the whole valley.
