Description
Looking east from 55th Place, this photograph was used to show beach erosion. Wall and houses above, Belmont Pier in distance. Photograph is one in a series ordered by City Manager Sam Vickers, documenting beach erosion for a report dated April 17, 1941. DATE NOTES: On back of photo is typed: "Taken April 9, 1941 2:45 P.M. / Tide +0.6." ORIG. IMAGE: 8" x 10" B&W glossy print. NEGATIVE: no. KEYWORDS: Sand, shoreline, breakwater, surf, sea wall, homes, waves.
