Description
An Ethiopian is sitting on a chair on a place laid out with carpets in front of a crowd of people. He is wearing a cloak and headdress and holding a stick and an Ethiopian metal cross.
The 'Etshege' the highest abyssinian church[...] dignitary on the celebration site. The Abuna, archbishop, is a Copt as Egyptian, who is ordained by the Patriarch in Alexandria and has to die in Abyssinia. Currently there is no Abuna in Abyssinia. - the parasol holder behind the Etshege has his cloak bound underneath as a sign of his subservience as befits a servant after the custom of the country").
