Photograph (streetscape, horizontal photography) of exterior (completely masonry construction) front view of the Stimson mansion, west side of Figueroa Street on Chester Place, Los Angeles, 1890. The manicured lawn has trees and other plants arranged at pleasing intervals. Another large dwelling is visible in the background. The home was built for the retired Chicago lumberman Thomas Douglas Stimson.
