Description
The historical marker at the site of the San Joaquin Roller Mill, east of Visalia, CA, states" San Joaquin Roller Mill, one of the first four roller mills in California. Located just to the north of the people's ditch, this mill, operating from 1854 to 1913, produced much of the flour used by early settlers of the valley. CLAMPUS VITUS D.S.G.G. 1855, dedicated October 28, 1978." The site now is part of the Kaweah Oaks Preserve. The photo contributor's grandfather had a partner named Frank Emory.
