Shades of L.A. is an archive of photographs representing the contemporary and historic diversity of families in Los Angeles. Images were chosen from family albums and include daily life, social organizations, work, personal and holiday celebrations, and migration and immigration activities. Description
Joseph Cohen, last representative of the Iranian Jewish community on the Iranian Parliament before the Islamic revolution in 1979. He was also the first deputy to be permitted to leave the country, and came to Los Angeles in 1980, where he died in 1981.
