From ridge above central cirque American Creek looking east towards high peaks at the head of the valley. Azalea Creek comes from the valley below the peak just to right of young Lyall Larch. American Creek proper rises from American Lake lying in cirque at right of picture behind the Alpine firs on ridge. Note reproduction of Alpine fir here. Montana, 1920
