Description
Fred Emery discusses his book, “Watergate.” He begins by explaining that the book was written in conjunction with a television series about Richard Nixon’s Presidency and the Watergate scandal. He describes the Houston Plan, which allowed intelligence officers to break into people’s homes without a warrant. He talks about Nixon’s feelings towards other presidents before him like John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. Emery talks about Nixon’s struggle as a Republican president to get bills passed in a Democratic majority Congress. He discusses how the press has taken sides in every election. He ends the interview by describing how he met President Nixon several times.
