Description
The movie starts in the Display Gardens across from the Retail Center. Guests were driven around the nursery on the "Elephant Train." The California Nursery had a float with a mini "Old Adobe" building on it. A parade in Pleasanton with many floats, carts, bikes, horses, bands. Clip 1: At the front gate, Yvonne Vieux (old family of Niles) in red dress. [Leon (brother) was in Bruce Roeding's Niles Elementary school class and (sister Jeanette was secretary at Niles Elementary). At the front gate. You can see the Amaral quarry where they excavated red rock. The nursery got rock for the roads here. In yellow sweater, unknown man, in the Display Garden. Guests on the "Elephant Train" in front of nursery office. There were five spielers on the train (Howard Burr (on train), Jack McDonald, and Manual Scaone and sometimes Tom Robbins and George C. Roeding, Jr.). Seen on the truck: Bob Ingram (advertising agency). Abies pinsapo behind truck. Tall water tower in the background. Clip 2: Adobe float. Summer of 1941. Yvonne Vieuw in yellow/red. Jesse Leva (in yellow dress black vest). Manual Scaone in black hat, Spanish outfit. Roeding children: George III in red shirt, Jerry in brown vest and yellow shirt, Bruce in blue shirt, red vest, red sombrero, and possibly the little girl is Joan Haman. Bill Cull in background in white hat and drove truck. Bill Cull (carpenter, truck driver, all round) getting into the truck. Truck was a a 1937 Mac Junior.. Clip of Pleasanton Parade: Horses, wagons, stagecoaches, mules, Indians, Mexican bands, marching bands, Grey Mercury 1941? with bumper sign of Alameda County Fair", Lincoln Zephyrr? with the same sign, Pleasanton float, majorettes, carts with ponies and donkeys, Alameda County Agricultural Fair? float has a sign that says "Pleasanton July xxx", 1941 Ford Woody, sailors, "Signal" tank wagon, Livermore float, bicycle made for six. Clip, Unknown - possibly Livermore - building with Boy Scouts and flag ceremony. Unknown rose garden.
