Description: "Born on the Fourth of July" author Ron Kovic. For him, the Vietnam war still goes on. Paralyzed from the chest down, Kovic has become an outspoken critic of veterans programs. "I speak for the lost generation," he says. He is shown here in a 1978 photo. Later in 1989 it was announced that he would be portrayed by Tom Cruise in an upcoming movie.
