Photograph was edited for publication purposes and has a vertical crease on the left side of the picture. Photograph caption dated September 21, 1962 reads "Dr. John T. Vincent, 19502 Rosita St., views a mammoth landslide from the back yard of his Tarzana home. One of his neighbors, Mrs. Estelle Obrikat, 4711 Caritina Dr., said she was awakened early Thursday morning by a vibrating sound and furniture moving in her home. The noise, she said, was caused by the pie-shaped piece of earth, about 500-feet wide, which began crumbling downhill. She said she believes the landslide was caused when developers leveled off the mountain and failed to reinforce it. Bulldozers today were trying to put the mountain back together by moving the dirt to its original place."
