Description
Richard Pierre, clerk, hands the Statler Hotel's first guest, William Thomas, his registration card as he is being greeted by J.C. Meacham, official Statler Hotel greeter. The bellboy, Robert Bevans, holds Mr. Thomas's well-worn satchel. Photo caption reads: "New Statler Hotel welcomes first guest. Cleveland attorney William H. Thomas (light suit) gets royal welcome from greeter J.C. Meacham as hostelry opens three guest floors." Dated August 6, 1952.
