Description
Point Lobos The Santa Clara County Auto Club, like many road trippers today, visited the scenic vista of Point Lobos, near Carmel. Point Lobos has long been a popular tourist attraction known for its natural beauty. The name is derived from the Spanish name, Punta de los Lobos Marinos, or Point of the Sea Wolves, after the barking sea lions that frequent the area. The whale skeleton photographed here by the Polhemus family may have been a remnant of the former whaling industry on the Monterey County coast.
