Description
Photograph of a view of Clay Street, showing earthquake damage to surrounding buildings, San Francisco, 1906. Three horses stand in the debris on the right with a row of heavily damaged buildings behind them. The second story of the building behind them has crumbled except for two small portions of the front wall. The roof and most of the exterior brick walls of the next building have fallen. A tall building with many large windows still stands further down the street. On the left, a large, brick building barely stands with most of its exterior brick walls piled in rubble on the sidewalk below.
