The Victory-Vanowen Playground, located at 12240 Archwood St., North Hollywood, is now called Valley Plaza Park. Photograph caption dated November 5, 1957 reads "Dean Bruce, 11, and Judy Weiner, 10, both of North Hollywood, lead junior 'hep cats' in a bop session at Victory-Vanowen Playground, 12240 Archwood St. Classes in ballroom, bop and square dances are conducted for youngsters each Thursday afternoon at playground by Mrs. Ida Kole, recreation director. Children are divided into age groups, 11 and 12-year- olds and 13 to 15-year-olds, for dance lessons. Information regarding enrollment may be obtained by calling playground center at POplar 5-9236."
