Title supplied by cataloger. Completed in 1932 from plans drawn by J. Harold McDowell, the auditorium replaced Long Beach's first Municipal Auditorium. Built at the foot of Long Beach Boulevard, it extends 500 feet out into the Pacific Ocean. It is surrounded on three sides by a lagoon and was demolished in 1975 to make way for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. View of the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium and surrounding area as it faces the Pacific Ocean. In the large, arched niche on the facade, left, is the famed WPA mosaic.
