Photograph of 3 women and a boy with an arched yucca in the Mojave Desert, Antelope Valley, California, ca.1880-1940. Growing to over 10-feet tall, the yucca arches completely back to the ground from left to right. The boy is sitting on top of the arch. The 3 women are grouped around where the yucca returns to the ground. A few small buildings are visible in the distance. The ground is generally covered with scrub grass and scrub brush.
