Note from an earlier record reads: "The original was a stop on the first official transcontinental route serving the San Diego - San Antonio mail line (1857-1859,) the Buterfield Overland Stage, and the southern emigrnt caravans. Located in what is now Anza - Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego".
