Photograph caption dated November 9, 1954 reads, "Schnozzolita, eight-month old female tapir, squirms in arms of Mike Wendt, left, chief animal keeper, and Fred Rose, animal keeper, as they carry her from hay-filled quarters into pen for picture session. Although the South American animal weighs only 75 pounds now, she is expected to reach a hefty 700 pounds when fully grown."
