Description
Photograph caption dated February 21, 1979 reads, "The pilot was hurt slightly but his passenger escaped injury when their light plane crashed yesterday in Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area after the engine quit during takeoff. Willis Sperry, 67, of Woodland Hills was treated at the scene for a slight head cut. His passenger was Victor Snide of Las Vegas. The plane flipped over when Sperry attempted to land in a muddy field. Sperry has 51 years of flying experience."
