Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the house of John C. (G?) Stewart, ca.1880. The one-story rancher is shown at center, an adobe enclosed in wood sheathing. Several illegible plaques are visible mounted on posts in the foreground right of center, just in front of the short fence that surrounds the property. The door to the home is pictured to the left, flanked by tall windows to either side. Stewart was the shipmate to Richard Hentry Dana, the American lawyer and writer, anti-slavery activist and expert of maritime law.
