Scope/Content: In the above photograph are members of the McKinley District National Boy Scout Jamboree Committee who met at Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Company last week to plan a community-wide appeal for sending 33 youngsters to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, to attend the National Jamboree, June 30 to July 6. From left in the photo are, William Pollard, general chairman of AFL Lining Car locals 456 and 582, and chairman of the Jamboree Committee; Ralph Mercier, AFL Voters League; Roger Willis, district executive, McKinley District of the Los Angeles Area Council of Boy Scouts; Norman O. Houston, president and Mrs. Verna A. Hickman (invited to meeting), public relations administrator, of Golden State Mutual; James Anderson, B.B. Bratton, local business man and accountant; Floyd Covington, executive secretary, Los Angeles Urban League. Other members not in the photograph are Craig Lasha, U.S. Griggs, K.B.
