Description: During the Miss Universe Pageant of 1953, Ruth June Hampton (in gown) crowns Myrna Rae Hansen of Illinois Miss USA 1954. Miss Hansen, seated on the pageant throne, wears a swimsuit draped with a sash printed with: "Miss United States of America." She also wears pumps and holds a scepter.
