Photograph was edited for publication purposes.
Vito Ardito, cafe partner of gangster Mike Pupillo, surrendered and admitted part ownership of the car and denied any connection with the killing of August Palombo in an alleged gangland war. The question of whether the glass in an automobile said to have been used by Pupillo, Ardito and Domenico Di Ciolla is bullet-proof will be an important factor in deciding their fate. Other suspects in the case include: Rocco Gravino and Domenico Di Ciolla. Dated July 27, 1928.
