Photograph caption dated September 26, 1957 reads, "Huge eight-foot pipes which measure 93 inches inside will be installed from Saticoy street to Los Angeles River to relieve run-off water in Reseda. Pipes, each weighing 12 tons, will stretch over one and one-half miles, according to Hallie Dupre Shipman, and project will use 812 pipes when completed."
